Cattery Policies & Buyer Guidelines
At Island Dolls Ragdolls, we are committed to the health, safety, and long-term well-being of every kitten we place. Please read our policies carefully before placing a deposit. These terms are non-negotiable and are in place to protect our kittens, our program, and the families who adopt from us. Please take the moment to read our cattery policies.
1. Health Guarantee
All of our kittens are examined by a licensed veterinarian and go home in excellent health. Each kitten is up to date on vaccinations and deworming appropriate for their age. We guarantee that our kittens are free of life-threatening congenital defects and contagious illness at the time they leave our care.
2. No Refund Policy
We do not issue refunds under any circumstance, including but not limited to a change of heart, allergies, landlord issues, or timing conflicts. The only time a refund will be issued is if the cancellation is made on our part. Please be absolutely sure before placing a deposit.

3. Deposits
Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred up to 3 times within a 12 month period. If another kitten is not chosen during this period, the deposit will be forfeited.
4. Waitlist Structure
We offer a paid priority waitlist. Families on this list get first choice of kittens in the order deposits are received. There is also a free notification list, but those families only get to choose after the waitlist has picked.
5. Pricing Policy
Our Ragdoll kitten prices reflect the quality, pedigree, temperament, and care provided. Prices are non-negotiable. Pricing may vary between kittens depending on quality.
6. Spay/Neuter
Kittens do not leave our cattery until they have been spayed or neutered—no exceptions. This is a non-negotiable part of our placement policy. Altering is done by our licensed veterinarian, and the cost is included in the purchase price of the kitten.
7. Go-Home Age
Each kitten’s go-home date is determined by the breeder based on the kitten’s health, development, and recovery from spay/neuter surgery. While most kittens are ready between 12 and 16 weeks of age, we do not guarantee an exact go-home date at the time of reservation. Some kittens may need more time to reach appropriate milestones. We will not rush this process, readiness is determined solely at our discretion with the kitten’s best interest in mind.
8. Pickup Location & Travel
We are located in Elizabeth, NJ. Kittens must be picked up in person or delivered via a trusted pet nanny.

9. Flight Nanny Delivery
For out-of-state families, we offer delivery through a professional flight nanny. This service is an additional cost and must be arranged in advance.
10. Final Payment Policy
If you are paying through a money transfer app (such as Zelle, Cash App, or Venmo), full payment is due no later than 5 days before your scheduled pickup or delivery. If paying by check the balance is due 3 weeks prior to pick up to allow clearance. If you are paying in cash, you may bring the payment at the time of pickup. No kitten will be released without confirmed and complete payment.
11. Buyer Responsibilities & Veterinary Visit Requirement
Once a kitten leaves our care, the buyer assumes full responsibility. You are required to take your kitten to a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of pickup. Routine veterinary care, proper nutrition, and a safe indoor-only home are expected. Failure to meet these standards voids all guarantees.
12. Indoor-Only Policy
All of our Ragdoll kittens are placed strictly as indoor-only pets. This breed is not suited for unsupervised outdoor access. Allowing your kitten to roam outdoors voids the health guarantee.
13. Declawing Ban
We do not permit our kittens to be declawed. Declawing is a painful and unnecessary procedure that we strictly prohibit. It will void all guarantees and support.
14. Lifetime Return Clause
If you can no longer care for your kitten, we require that the kitten be returned to us. No refunds will be given, but we will always accept our cats back rather than see them surrendered or rehomed irresponsibly.

15. Breeding Rights
We do not offer breeding rights unless you are an established, ethical breeder who practices early spay/neuter. All pet kittens are sold fixed, no exceptions.
16. Temperament Guarantee
Our kittens are raised underfoot in our home with children and daily socialization. While we do not guarantee personality traits, we stand behind the breed’s reputation for affectionate, gentle temperaments.
17. Photo & Website Copyright
All photos, videos, and written content on this website are the sole property of Island Dolls Ragdolls. They may not be copied, reproduced, or used without written permission. This includes all images of our kittens, cats, logos, and branding.
18. Social Media Expectations
We welcome updates and tagged posts from our kitten families and love seeing our Ragdolls thriving in their new homes. However, we strictly prohibit any form of public defamation, slander, false accusations, or hostile behavior directed toward Island Dolls Ragdolls on social media, online forums, review platforms, or in any public setting.
Buyers are expected to communicate concerns directly and respectfully. Publicly posting false, inflammatory, or damaging statements violates the purchase agreement and the mutual trust upon which all placements are made.
If this policy is violated, Island Dolls Ragdolls reserves the right to:

Terminate ongoing support or communication

Refuse future sales to the individual or related parties

Pursue legal action for defamation or damages

Reclaim the kitten or cat without refund if we determine the home no longer reflects the values or standards we require for placement
Our first priority is the well-being of our cats and the integrity of our cattery. We will always act in their best interest.
19. Refusal of Sale
We reserve the right to deny or cancel a sale at any time, for any reason, if we feel a home is not a good fit. In these cases, any deposit will be refunded.
20. Contract Requirement
All buyers are required to sign a sales contract before taking their kitten home. This protects both parties and ensures that expectations are clearly defined and agreed upon.

21. Pickup Deadline & Boarding Fees Policy
Once a kitten is deemed ready to go, the buyer is expected to pick up the kitten on the agreed-upon date.
If the buyer cannot pick up the kitten on that date, a boarding fee of $20 per day will apply, covering food, care, and continued socialization. Boarding may be extended for a maximum of 14 days from the original ready date.
If the kitten is not picked up within this 14-day period—and no written exception has been granted—the kitten will be placed back up for sale, and all payments made, including the deposit, will be forfeited. No refunds or credits will be given under any circumstance.
